Dinner Theatre / Drama Production Information:

Our next Church Mouse Players' Dinner Theatre performance is scheduled for the spring of 2024. For more information go to our What's New section. Tickets to our performances in the past have cost $25.00 or less per person. If you have some information needs that we have omitted then please contact us. Your input is welcomed.

We have held several very successful dinner theatre productions which you can check out further at our What's Been Done section. "Tumbleweeds" - was our largest dinner theatre (farce/musical) production including some 30 cast on three stages. It was held in the spring of 2006. All our performances have been virtually "Sold Out", some weeks in advance. We also held a Christmas Drama Musical for two nights in December, 2004 entitled "The Valley Haven Christmas Show". Admission for that Christmas Production was "Free" as a gift, giving back to our very supportive community. See What's New for the latest performances.

Typical Play Preparation

The Church Mouse Players executive committee reads through and chooses appropriate plays with a usual lead time of four months to a full year in advance. We begin casting for our play preparation about three months prior to the play dates. Set construction and prop acquisition can begin at a variety of time frames depending on the complexity and availability of our carpenter and set decorators. The acting portion usually has practices two or three times per week for some 10 weeks prior to the play dates usually on Monday and Thursday evenings and on Sunday afternoons.

Origin of The Church Mouse Players

The Church Mouse Players began in 1995 with a small group of dedicated volunteers who were interested in starting a family friendly community theatre. We began performing dinner theatres for small audiences of 80 guests per night for two nights and as our popularity grew over the years, we added additional nights which eventually lead to four evenings. We hold two productions per year; one in the spring and another in the fall. As community support grew, we finally made a critical decision, in 2013, to expand to a new and larger facility. We moved from the confines of a small church basement to a new partnership with the Oxford Branch #36 Legion. In this new, more-accessible venue, we now are hosting over 150 per night. Our registered non-profit theatre society is made up entirely of volunteers and we are always actively trying to recruit new talents, whether it is by participating on the stage or behind the scenes. Our group has also always been known for giving back and over the years and has provided over $25,000 in various local community and youth projects.
